All is not lost.
It looks like it’s missing a hood emblem though.
Save for the text on the side, no thanks.
Blacking the grill center piece looks nice, especially with the red H

I had no idea there is a Spoon tuned version!

It’s not an official Spoon vehicle. It is, iirc, a Spoon fan who modified stuff intended for the EK to fit, since so much of it does.

This one has convinced me that I need a GA3.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I’ve seen such an oversaturation of carbon fiber (and just plain painted black) hoods that I’m actually getting pretty sick of them honestly.

You make my EK cry. Of course, this was also 12 years ago, so maybe it was okay then?

12 years ago it was fine. But like Lambo doors, it was done to death (at least around here)

Cool car! but the driver... hands position, over turning the wheel (“I’m understeering like hell... let’s turn the wheel more!!!”), over cooking most if not all corners... Very cringeworthy to look at :)
Once you upgrade your driver license, did you figure out how to drop a manual gearbox in your car?

It’s a civic, for all intents and purposes. Make sure the transmission matches the engine, lift car up, remove old transmission/engine, slide new transmission/engine under, lower car, bolt everything up. B-series or K-series or another D-series or whatever.
Question to you, my shaken is up in April, and I want to start prepping the car now. I just had my oil and oil filter changed, I’m going to get a new air filter, and I’ll probably see about having the “maintenance” checklist done, but I don’t want to actual do it myself this time around, I just want to minimise my cost at the garage. I can get it done, assuming there are no issues, for about 70,000 at the Super Autobacs I frequent, and anything I buy through that Super Autobacs will be installed for only 500 yen, so there’s not a lot of financial impetus to me doing it myself versus spending the time working.
As far as I know, it should already pass shaken from everything I’ve read. The cosmetic situation may be horrible, but the reason I bought it given the exterior issues is precisely because the internals have been well taken care of. I’m still planning to go ahead change/replace some stuff if I don’t know the dates of the previous work, though it probably was the previous shaken.
Any tips?

They love checking bushings lol... not even kidding. All your drive train bushings will be the main thing for them to check. If they look too compressed change them. Drivetrain-wise also, make sure the accordeon protection thing of your drive shaft (“Soufflet de cardan” in french) is not torn and get each wheel up in the air and check for play, moving it up, down, right and left firmly. If there is some play, you will have to check your ball joints. They check for it too...
Then all the usual, are your brakes warped, do you have enough brake pads left, does your car brake straight, does your hand brake works properly, are your suspensions bouncy...etc etc.
Finally, make sure your lights are properly setup, they will check that too, but usually just adjust them for you if it’s not perfect.
Then the classic emission test, but if your car runs correctly, there is no reason for this to be a problem.
And that’s pretty much all they check really... The french “contrôle technique” is much more problematic and annoying than the japanese shaken :)

Is it just the angle, or did they really put deeper dished wheels on the rear?

So it’s basically a Civic. Gotcha.

I call it a baby Civic, because it pretty much is. As the Civic out grew its previous space, the Logo moved into it. It shares a lot with the Integra, too, actually. The TS steering wheel is an ITR steering wheel. The base model Logo’s steering wheel is identical to the 96-00 EK/EJ.

Now that I take a good look at it, it’s almost a precursor to the Fit (eyeballing it, dimensions wise).

It’s not almost, it IS the precursor to the Fit. The complaints about the Logo led to the version I have, the TS version. Too little too late and all the cool things about the TS version were folded into the design for the Fit, which is a runaway hit.
